Today was the day,
Monday May 11th.
It was 8:45am.
She was nervous.

What if she did all this in vain?
What if he never saw her sign?
What if it was a one time visit?
What if she was being too forward?

Her heart was pounding so fast
She could barely breathe!
She needed to calm down.
She needed to check her face one last time.

She powdered her nose.
Reapplied some lip gloss.
Checked her hair.
Settled her dress to fit just right.

As she looked down to check her shoes,
A gentle voice said softly,
“My good sir, I rather just say hello… ”
She looked up to see it was him!

He bowed,  tipped his hat,
Then playfully said,
“Hello my good lady,
This time I will not say goodbye.”

She opened her mouth to speak
But her words failed her.
She couldn’t believe he came.
She blushed, then she fainted…
