The Solitary Bench

In the middle of
a wooded area
stood a solitary bench.

Would anyone really
think to sit there?
I know for sure
I’d be scared to!

Was it put there
to be inviting
or as a joke to see
who’d be brave enough
to accept the challenge?

What comes to mind
when you look at
the solitary bench?

Wish not granted (yet)

I wanted it
to be over today.
I wanted April 17 2017
to be the day I was set free.

Free of you.
Free of the torture
I had to relive daily
in my minds eye.

Free of all the pain
you caused our family
all those years ago.

Seeing your face
made me relive the horror.
Hearing your voice
stirred up 6 years of emotions.

Your twisted words
revealed that
your disturbed mind
still needs healing.

I wanted it
to be over today,
but it’s not.

Hopeless Romantic

He dives into a mirage of roses and doused in sparkling champagne.

Love is always flowing from his tongue and lips.

His sensitivity has deepened and the passion is endless.

A flame from the candle is his true light.

He aches for touch, closeness, and completeness.

Poetry is his fortress and music is glowing from his heart.

He is the hopeless romantic desiring the perfect one.

Scorching Memories

She gave me a starlight moment,

She gave me a captivating sensation.

She gave me more than I could ever expect.

She gave me a ray of sunshine.

She gave me a bottle of passion to drink.

She gave me a dash of spice.

She gave me goosebumps from head to toe.

She gave me the heat from the nectar.

She gave me more than I could ever dream.

She gave me a scorching photograph,

She gave me the sounds of ecstasy.

She gave me the needle to my addiction.

She gave me more time than I anticipated.

She gave me a bounce to my next few steps,

She gave me a window to inhale her air.

She gave me the reason to appreciate what I have.
